July 29 - August 3 New England Trip

Tuesday, July 29

Arrive and check into our hotel in the Boston Seaport. We'll have a casual get-together drink in the area for those who want to join that evening.

Wednesday, July 30

Relax at the hotel for the morning before we start our tour with our First Pitch Lunch at Trillium Brewing, where we'll enjoy a paired tasting lunch featuring some of their award-winning IPAs and at least one special treat. From there, we'll board our van and head north to Portland, making a stop for some stellar tastings at Barreled Souls. After we get settled into the hotel, it's on to watch the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox affiliate) host the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in a Double-A Eastern League match-up at historic Hadlock Field, where we'll also enjoy dinner. Post-game, we'll make an optional visit in the Old Port.

Thursday, July 31

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll point ourselves toward Vermont. We'll make a stop for lunch and tasting at Schilling Beer, which is making great ales to match their amazing riverside location. Then, it's on to Hill Farmstead, one of the top breweries in the world. We'll sample and tour the grounds with some of the team. Because one superstar isn't enough for the day, we're then going to The Alchemist, home of the world-renowned Heady Topper before we head into Burlington for the night. While Burlington no longer has an affiliated team, the Vermont Lake Monsters now compete as part of the Futures League, a showcase circuit for collegiate players looking to get drafted. It's a truly old-school feel of baseball that's grounded in community, and we'll take it all in.

Friday, August 1

We'll have a beer brunch at Foam Beer before a special tasting of some of the state's other top breweries like Freak Folk, Frost, and Zero Gravity before we head to lunch at Lawson's Finest. Then, on to Worcester, where we'll check in to the hotel before walking a few short blocks to Polar Park, home of the Worcester Red Sox. They'll match up with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies) in a Triple-A International League game. Post-game, you have the option of joining for a drink to cap the night.

Saturday, August 2

Haven't had enough stellar IPA's yet? Well, we'll fix that! After you enjoy breakfast at the hotel, we'll make the trip to the mind-blowing campus of Tree House Brewing, whose Julius is perhaps the perfection of the New England IPA. We'll have plenty of time to sample and enjoy a pizza lunch before we head down the road to the idyllic setting and stellar beers of Fox Farm Brewing in Salem, Connecticut. Then, we're off to Hartford where you'll get a little rest in the hotel before we walk to Dunkin' Field, one of the finest minor league ballparks in the country and home to the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado Rockies), for a Double-A Eastern League game against the Reading Phillies.

Sunday, August 3

Yeah, it's not the minors, but how can you tour baseball in New England without a visit to Fenway Park? So, we'll load up early to head to Boston where the Red Sox host a morning start time game with the Houston Astros. We'll enjoy grandstand seating behind the plate. After the game, we'll head to the hotel to get settled in before finishing the trip with a Final Pitch Dinner at Night Shift, who will wow you with their stellar brews and Detroit style pizza!

Monday, August 4

Check out, and head home at your leisure.

If you still haven't gotten enough beer on the trip, we are glad to point you to a few great options. (Want to extend your stay in Boston a few extra days? Let us know and we'll help you get the group rate for your additional nights.)
